Confined to a wheelchair, following a car accident at age 15, Lead Guitarist, Stephen Carpenter, turning this adversity into an opportunity. He taught himself to write music and to play the guitar. Soon after, a few school friends joined to form the band and, five years later, they secured their first recording contract, and they released their alternative rock debut album.
